Can anyone help with this question:

I've got a dead cell, with 0.7v. A 700Ah unit. A complete mystery what went wrong. Maybe it just died after a few months disconnected. It's an ex Balqon cell, so not with a pristine heritage. It maybe the Housepower BMS I was using that went awry. Anyway, beyond the help of any defibrilator or life support regime.

Where can I get a replacement please, capable of quick delivery to the Caribbean?

Finally finished my bank!

Used a Blue seas 9012 as a main relay, a 7713 switch as the discharge relay, a RA-700112-DN 70A relay for the charge bus and another RA-700112-DN 70A relay to cut the alt reg power wire.

The 7713 needed a MOSFET to invert output from pulling down to a +v.

Below are the voltages



Charger voltages are set so low as it keeps the state of charge at around 30 - 50%. Night/morning before we go somewhere, I'll change the values to 13.8 to get the battery charged up before I leave.

Anyone out there using the iCharger 4010Duo?

Two separately regulated channels 40A each, 70A if combined, can be stacked for higher rates.

Precise customization, store and recall your "smart profiles".

DC-to-DC so can do per-cell balancing away from mains, reports internal resistance also at the cell level.

Can also automate discharge tests, regenerating power back to the source bank or the other channel.

Seems the bee's knees from my research, if you've got one please report here.

Hi there. This is unfortunately only in German language - an official compendium about LiPo and LFP, EU laws, regulations, applicable norms for e-mobility usage, smart storage use, recycling etc. It has a tons of valuable referenced international material and publications in the literature list for those that can read German / English and are keen on more academic input. Not easy reading, but some like it that way I guess.

Has anyone used these DROP-IN replacements which include all the management with double redundancy?

Lithium batteries should be part of an integrated energy system. The concept of "drop-in" is desirable from the standpoint of simplicity only. In reality, it isn't a good idea. It's worth doing the research to find proven safe & effective lithium system providers.

Drop-In is self-contained battery with an integral BMS and contactor/s, lacking system communication with external charge sources or loads.

That then encourages people to not change their Lead Acid charge sources to the realities of LFP, which is not the specs provided by many drop in manufacturers. For example 100% discharge and a maximum charge of 14.4v to 14.6v is common, however while it may match a LA charge source, it will murder LFP. The system you nominate states 15.8v which is lunacy.

Drop In manufacturers do this to artificially lower the capital cost of installation so they can sell more batteries.

Ocean P is being kind, I wouldn't touch Drop In's with a barge pole.

That consumer 1 1/2 star or F Rating for that Smart Battery crowd probably doesn't even include those poor people wondering why they keep melting small case auto style alternators.

These Drop In LFP merchants are giving LFP a bad name. Something needs to be done about it by the marine industry.
