USVI or PR tax deals

Have any of US citizen cruisers here managed to make USVI or PR their base and to get a lower income tax deal on passive income? I know it’s not how it works on paper (needs to be local sourced income), but theory and reality are two different things.

When you are talking about tax law, theory and reality tend to be REALLY close together, especially during an IRS audit...

And talk to a PR or USVI based tax attorney, not random strangers.

For one PR and USVI are outside of IRS audit power...

Both are decent sailing destinations, so I’m looking for people who actually are living the dream
