Might get into the anchorages in Isla Mujeres which is a great place to stay.

https://www.noonsite.com/place/mexic.../isla-mujeres/

https://www.google.com/search?q=isla...w=1091&bih=517

However, when we were there, a few years back, a US boat was confiscated for not having a US Zarpe, which really does not exist. Worth the money to use a local agent who is probably the Port Catain's cousin!

A Zarpe? Lol, that would be me, losing my boat.
Thanks, I'll look into an agent.
Love Isla Mujeres. Probably just anchor with the rest on Playa Norte.
I actually need a moorage so I can acquire full insurance and not just Liability. My last quote from Progresso was like $2500 CAD/month. That's quite steep

Welcome from a fellow edmontonian(stony plain actually, but close enough)
I can't help you with anything Mexico, but for insurance, check Dolphin insurance in bc. They gave me the best rates and coverage areas.

Wow. $2500 a MONTH? For an insurance premium? Am I reading that right? IMHO that's beyond steep.

What about El Cid just south of Puerto Morelos?

CBP form 1300 is a clearance document for leaving or entering the US. I had to hassle the Coast Guard in Newport, RI to give me one. Then they came at 0300 after they finished with the big ships.

"Why did I need it?"

I was going to be traveling in Europe and other lands where a Zarpe could be asked for. While I hate paperwork, it is nice sometimes to "have a trail"...

Paperwork?... I should not have looked at a CBP 1300 How are the manifest # and trade codes filled out for non cargo vessels.

You don't. The idea is to just put the relevant information and get some sort of stamp from US Customs. That will do it.
