Contemplating Part-Time Live Aboard Life Style

Hello all. I put up a brief post on this before but am expanding with additional questions. Would appreciate any wisdom the group has to offer.

My wife Sarah and I are officially retiring and figuring our next steps. I'd love for us to live on a boat part time (4-5 months a year) in the islands starting in the BVI. Sarah's isn't quite sure, so we've decided to do a month long Cat bareboat this spring in the BVI to see if this is right for us in the long term. Currently looking at a 40ft Island Spirit managed by a company called 'Seabatical' (Long Term Charters
Sea Cows Bay, Tortola).

First, interested in folks experience with this company? Prices are good for an April charter and I've seen good recommendations but would appreciate any thoughts if you've experience with them.

Second and perhaps more important, would appreciate any advice/guidance you might have on booking this sort of charter. Do's and don'ts, what to look out for, how not to look lame, etc.

Third, what does a typical month look like for you BVI cruisers? Where do you like to hang? Any inside tricks, guidance and advice from long-term cruisers definitely appreciated.
