This is a full scale attack - they are trying to take out all the airfields and military bases/soldiers first.

It's normal strategy of course.

Today, February 24, at 5.00 the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation started intensive shelling of our units in the east, and also launched rocket-bomb strikes at the airports in Boryspil, Ozernomu, Kulbakinomu, Chuguev, Kramatorsk, Chornobayivtsi, and so on through military objects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

I don’t understand why people make this so complicated - Putin wants the USSR back. Everything he says and does is just to try to manipulate things to that end, he’s been at it for years, including funding separatist movements in strategic areas. His goal is to collect independent nations and force them to submit to his rule - regardless of what responses there are to his efforts to further that goal, the goal itself is *wrong*. People are being hurt and killed right now because Putin is a mentally unhealthy man with far too much power and an obsession.

Thank you, it's appreciated. We had some contact earlier but communication is spotty.

The city's airfield was attacked somehow, not sure if it was by missile or saboteurs on the ground - they heard the explosions.

Some are elderly with health problems, even the stress of all this is a lot for them to bear.

One in the military was already deployed to the front line in Luhansk. We have no contact with him. We know the worst can happen, we hope it does not

I did mention earlier in the thread that I expected this to happen - that the whole country would be armed if necessary.

Ukrainians are called for full mobilization

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov called on all Ukrainians who know how to hold weapons to join the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces.

In order to obtain weapons, one should apply directly to the brigades and battalions of the Troop Forces in their region - you only need to have your passport with you.
