Sailing Croatia - Aug 29 or Oct 10?

After four bareboat charters in BVI, we’re planning to tackle Croatia in 2020. We’re a family group of 5-6 and would be taking a 3-4 cabin catamaran.

Due to work issues, our scheduling is limited to the weeks of August 29 or October 10.

The crowds worry me in August and the weather worries me in October. I love to swim in the sea so the air and water have to be warm enough for it.

Any advice?

There's no more crowd at the end of August, water is warm and the weather shouldn't be to hot.

August 29 it's not August (), it's practically September; and September in Croatia is almost crowed (or uncrowded) as October, but with a warmer water, warmer weather, better forecast, longer day light.
Furthermore in October you should have more likely to find "Bora", a very strong NE wind, tipical of the area, fairly frequent on autumn and winter and rare (rare it doesn't mean never) in summer.

No way, August 29 without any doubt IMHO.
