Recomended Marine Surveyor in France

Hello,
i have been talking with a Beneteau Oceanis 390 Owner, and the conversations are going well.

There is a possibility that i will visit the boat in June, and i would like to arrange a professional surveyor.

Any recommendation for a surveyor in La Rochelle ?

I have none to recommend as I don't know any in this area, but I can advise to make your search with the title "expert maritime" which is the french title for such job.

Then you have to find one that is specialized in leisure boat, which is not often the case as those guys are more on the commercial / merchant ship sector.

One solution could be someone you know and trust in the are that is an experienced sailor and would inspect the boat on your behalf, sometimes they are more skilled than so called "professionnals"....

And, last but not least, the guy must be familiar with the boat material to have a good / significant advice on it.

Olivier Beaute is very good and in La Rochelle. Specialises in Amels but other boats also. Speaks French, German and English if I remember.
