Regional forums in Asia - like Hong Kong?

We are hoping to be able to set up regional forums on CF. Initially for Hong Kong, but basically for any local region where there is some concentration of boating/cruising going on.

Who is in charge here, to the extent of making a decision on that?

If needed, I would volunteer as moderator (although I would hope someone with more time would stick their hand up first). There are several suspects in our local community that I would think would be interested.

A lot of local issue in Hong Kong that are so specific that we really need a dedicated forum. Could possibly include Macau - as I think the boating there is quite limited and it's fairly close to Hong Kong. But not all of China, Asia, Pacific etc - that's way too broad.

What we are often interested in:

- Meetups, where to visit, local anchorage and cruising tips
- Local rules, updates, NTMs/MDNs, wrecks, work areas and such
- Getting a local grade 1 or 2 Hong Kong license
- Fixing, maintaining and updating everything on boats (could be part of general forums)
- Where to buy stuff (which is an issue in Hong Kong)
- Buy/sell/swap anything from parts, assistance, crewing to boats, moorings etc
- "Politics" - where to find berthing for your boat (very hard in Hong Kong)

And so on ...

Rather than making our own separate forums, we would be very happy to become a sub-group here. As a lot of it is specific to Hong Kong, it would be nice to have our own little corner.

That is correct. I was advised to go here until someone can make a decision. Although this is a forum for destinations, that's the best place so far for local issues.
