NEXUS:
NEXUS is a joint customs and immigration family of programs for frequent travellers that both the Canadian and American governments have implemented. The NEXUS programs are designed to simplify border crossings for pre-approved, low-risk travellers.
The NEXUS family consists of NEXUS Highway, NEXUS Marine, and NEXUS Air.
Once approved by both Canada and the United States as low-risk travellers, NEXUS members will enjoy a simplified entry process while travelling across the Canada – United States border by motor vehicle, recreational boat, or aircraft.
The NEXUS programs enable Canadian and United States customs and immigration authorities to concentrate their efforts on potentially high-risk travellers and goods, thereby upholding security and protection standards at the border. All NEXUS members remain subject to examination at any time when entering either Canada or the United States.

I-68
Canadian Border Boat Landing Program, I-68 Permit Program (CBBL):
Current immigration regulations require that every application for entry to the United States must be made in person to an immigration officer at a port-of-entry at a time when the port is open for inspection. One exception to this requirement is the Canadian Border Boat Landing (I-68) Program, which allows certain applicants entering the United States by small boat to be inspected only once per year, and thereafter enter from time to time for recreational purposes without further inspection. The regulations further require that a person claiming United States citizenship must establish that fact to the satisfaction of the examining immigration officer.
