Uhaul? Who haul?

Hey guys,

I’m looking to ship a car and a truck bed of stuff from the central California coast to New England, any recommendations? I don’t mind driving it myself, just looking to save money with furloughs and all.

I tired this before with some shipping brokers, way too flakey.

Any good ideas?

Thanks!

Post a listing on Uship.com ?

If the items are already packaged and sizes/weights are known it obviously makes the process easier.

I sold a scarce full floating rear axle for a Toyota mini motorhome to a guy in MT where I am in SE MI, he organized the pickup through Uship and I think it worked out great for him.

Load the car up with the big stuff from the truck
and ship the car. Plenty of reputable car haulers.
It cost me 700.00 to ship my Honda CRV from NJ to Florida.
Door to Door
The car was packed so tight you needed a shoehorn to get into
the drivers seat.
The rest just ship UPS.
Go thru your stuff, no need to spend more money on shipping
then the cost of buying new.
Cheers
Neil

Re: Uhaul? Who haul?

I had such bad experienced trying to rent trucks. Tires so far off balance that I was bouncing out the seat, front shocks gone. Had pain in my kidneys for the next 3 months and a kidney stone not long after.....

If I didnt have a choice and had to go that route, I would try to rent one of the new transit vans from Uhaul, something that is likely to be in better mechanical shape and then pack my stuff in there. If you can use a tow dolly to haul your car (non awd) then that keeps it all with the same company. Their box trucks suck gas and the charge per mile is pretty high. And most of those trucks are very long in the tooth at this stage (at least here in MI)...
