We are bringing our new boat down to Miami the first week of January. It is currently at Glades BoatStorage in La Belle Fl. Wanted to know if anyone has made this trip down the Caloosahatchee River, across Lake Ocheekobee, and then down the Intracoastal waterway to Miami. Any tips, tricks or practical advice is welcome as well as good places to be on hook or stop for a bite to eat. Thanks in Advance for the Help!
You don't give us any info on the boat so any answers would be pretty general. There are places a deep draft boat can't go. A sailboat with a tall mast can not transit the Lake because of bridge height without taking the mast down.

Chuck, ..... didn't think about that. She is a 1980 30' or 9.2m center cockpit S2 from Tiara yachts. Draft is about 4.5' mast height is 43' so I should make the bridge as far as I've researched. Let me know any other specifics that you guys need. Thanks again for the help!
we have some posts on our Sea Trek web site that covers the area from the Florida Barge Canal to the Keys so there might be some stuff you can use. You might also consider the West Coast to the Keys then Miami. Depending on weather along the way. Both ways are great trips. Good luck

The blog helped, as to unmarked low power lines, bridge height and such. I mapped out the west coast way down and it seemed a lot further to Watson Island where my mooring is, that's why I have decided to go down the east coast. Again thanks for the help
