I am seeking info on life in the Rio Dulce area of Guatemala. In particular haulout and storage rates. I have written to Ram Marine and have not receive an answer.
Also would like some info on life in general such as expenses, food, security, mosquitoes,:-), in other words, any info.
Thanks

Stephen Pavlidis recently came out with a new cruising guide for the Northwest Caribbean, which I believe covers the Rio Dulce area as well. Island Hopping Shameless Plug Book Page
That will likely have the marina/haulout info that you seek.

Both Pavlidis' book and Freya Raucher's cruising guide cover the Rio Dulce.
is it possible to sail in march and april straight to trinidad or will i have to go north - say - canacun or even north os cancun to get the right wind conshdering i am sailing a catamaran
Take a look at Pilot Charts for the area...the odds of you having E winds in April are 50-60% across the entire Carib basin. NE winds make up most of the remaining 100%.
Earlier in the season you could play the wind shifts on cold fronts to make easting, but by April, fronts are unlikely...just steady Trades blowing against you.
