It does look appealing. I'm pretty sure I found the photo on Flickr, AND noted the location (somewhere). Unfortunately the location name is very lost, among many other things.

It reminds me of some islands near Phuket, Thailand.

Pretty spectacular. I think we can rule out the Caribbean.

If you blow up the photo, you will see what appears to be a sloop, with a red dinghy, anchored on the other side of the closest island.

It looks like a dump! A despicable, polluted, trash heap of a puddle without fish except for poisonous ones.

Dunno how we missed it. Give us the L&L and we'll pick it up second time around

Laidback: No idea what you're talking about.

Texsail could be correct. I have a feeling it was a photo-set from SE Asia... somewhere. There was a whole series of these shots.

Here is URL re the TVgan site:- tvqan.com | WOT Reputation Scorecard | WOT Web of Trust

Almost certain that none of the islands in the South China Sea or the Andaman
Sea resemble those pictured. A possible are the Visayan Islands in the Philippines.

Laidback: I think you're confused. The image posted is hosted on Imgur, a free image host. "tvqan" is just the short code that's part of the URL. If you're using software to warn you about sites, it may be buggy.

Cheers

Trev, you are probably right ! It was in the effort to try and find the origin of the photo,
that came with a warning.

Found the location!

Castaway on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Monuriki Island in Fiji, where the Tom Hanks film Castaway was shot. The reef from the air is indescribable.
Here's the location according to uncle Google.

Looks like a nice spot. Not sure where I scored the full-size version of the photo. it seems the photographer isn't sharing it anymore.

The "http" indicates that the Hypertext Transport Protocol is used to transfer the requested file(s). Sometimes you will see "https", which is secure (encrypted) HTTP.

The "imgur.com" is the domain name of the server (computer) from which the files are downloaded. The server reported as untrustworthy above was tvqan.com, not imgur.com. Therefore, the software reporting that the imgur.com site is untrustworthy is in error.

The "Tvqan.jpg" is the file downloaded. In this case, the file is a JPG image, assuming that the file extension (.JPG) is accurate. There's nothing to enforce that a file with a .JPG is actually an image.
