Where to mount a GPS tracker in an outboard?

Where is the best place to mount a spot GPS tracker in a Yamaha 15 hp two-stroke outboard engine?

I’m wondering if anyone has tried to hide a spot trace theft alert satellite tracking device into a Yamaha 15 hp outboard engine and if so what was the optimum location you found?

Many thanks,

Porter McRoberts, Panama, Pacific bound

Trackers like Spot are too large, instead check out trackers for dogs, much smaller.

Trackers all need a sky view, so the best spot would be glued to the underside of the cover, above all the engine mass. Unfortunately that means it can be seen and removed--if anyone pulls the cover--but since they've all got limited battery life, maybe not such a big deal, unless you were planning to wire one up to "cleaned up" internal power?
