Tsunami Warning - California / Oregon



A tsunami warning has been issued for coastal areas of California and Oregon after a powerful earthstruck rocked Northern California.

Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake, a tsunami is set to follow.

It is scheduled to hit Fort Bragg in California at 11 a.m. PST, Crescent City in California at 11:20 a.m. PST and San Francisco at 12:10 p.m. PST.

Port Orford in Oregon will experience the tsunami at 11:20 a.m. PST, followed by Brookings in Oregon ar 11:25 a.m. PST and Charleston at 11:40 a.m. PST.

The quake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.0 struck about 62 miles west of Ferndale, California in Humboldt County on Thursday morning.

The earthquake struck at a depth of about 10 kilometers at around 10:44 a.m. local time.

So far webcams don't look too crazy but i suspect potentially higher currents:

The U.S. National Weather Service said that the tsunami warning that extended along 800 kilometres of the California and Oregon coasts was called off about 90 minutes after the earthquake struck at 10:44 a.m. PT (1:44 p.m. ET).
