Trimaran Broken On Qld Island -- Debris

Sorry to report this incident, glad the man was saved. Here's the link: https://www.abc.net.au/news/topic/ma...-and-incidents

There will be floating debris in the water from this event to watch out for.

Are there more details?
Can anyone id the yacht?
Was she local or on a passage?

ForeAndAft or alanmighty might hear about it, it's their stomping grounds. I posted it here in this forum because of the debris from the broken ama. The tides will spread it around.

Re: Trimaran Broken On Qld Island -- Debris

I anchored near there once , in “Thirsty sound”. We had a huge rise and fall of tide and 8 knots of current, that was reason enough to steer clear of that entire area for me. My sympathies to the sailor, hoping he’s ok after the ordeal of being winched off the wreck into the helicopter and losing his home.
