Re: The hurricane prediction is for the strongest in 70 years

Calif wants to tax cow farts. Next, they will want the dairy farms to capture the farts for recycling.

One calif. city, the name has cycled out of my brain, taxed CO2 production so high, the local bread companies relocated. Think about that, loss taxes, loss of jobs.

I recall driving past a local bakery and smelling the very fresh bread. Mmmmmm

The 'service providers' are making a profit from something they had no hand in the making of, financially, physically or intellectually. In previous times, before the neo-liberal policies of Reagan/Thatcher wreaked their havoc on the western (and by extension, rest of the) world, this would have been called stealing, and have been dealt with at the ballot box.
Wow, this is so wrong is so many ways.....just Wow!

I never use the 97%.

Studies of the consensus among scientists on anthropogenic global warming that are based on literature surveys give higher and more consistent results than opinion polls. Using rejection as the criterion of consensus, five literature surveys (11-15 in the chart above) agree closely (literature survey 10 did not use rejection alone). The five comprise 54,195 articles from 1991-2015 and <b>reveal an average consensus of 99.94%.</b> I estimate that at least 150,000 individual authors wrote those articles and that number does not include all those who wrote about AGW during the period, only those found using specific search terms. How so? Tom Berners-Lee gave away HTML. I have always liked his dream:

Quote:
Perhaps I should explain where I'm coming from. I had (and still have) a dream that the web could be less of a television channel and more of an interactive sea of shared knowledge. I imagine it immersing us as a warm, friendly environment made of the things we and our friends have seen, heard, believe or have figured out. I would like it to bring our friends and colleagues closer, in that by working on this knowledge together we can come to better understandings. If misunderstandings are the cause of many of the world's woes, then can we not work them out in cyberspace. And, having worked them out, we leave for those who follow a trail of our reasoning and assumptions for them to adopt, or correct.

Gore's source of wealth:

Inheritance - rich father
Sale of Current TV - $70,000,000
Apple stocks - $45,000,000
Google stocks - $30 - 40 million
Everything you use your iPhone or "Google it" you add to his wealth.

"ever is a long time". There are certinly many more now than there were 50 years ago.

As for interbreeding:

Polar Bear Evolution Was Fast and Furious | Science | AAAS

"In the past few years, researchers have used genetic information to sort out this relationship and to understand how polar bears thrive in the frigid Arctic, feeding primarily on seals and other marine life captured from holes in the ice. This work has included sequencing the animals’ genomes, which has indicated that polar bears are truly a distinct species that at times lived apart from brown bears and at times intermingled and interbred with them. "
...
“The evolutionary history of these animals has probably been very complex,” with the two species separating and interbreeding multiple times, "

Tim Berners Lee developed HTML when he was at CERN. He gave it away. Now lots of online businesses are profiting from his work.

Ok. What does that have to do with Internet Service Providers?

Did he build the copper/fiber/backbone that makes up the Internet?
