Thanks to Aussie and Canadian Fire Fighters

From hot and dry Southern California I want to extend thanks to the heroic fire fighters from Australia and those from Canada also New Zealand and Israel who are here helping to fight the many wild fires in California, Oregon and Washington State. Even in such crazy times of COVID and international conflicts it is heartening to see people willing to help even at the risk of their own lives. Our boat and our marina are about 60 miles (95 km) from the nearest fire but the deck is covered in ash. Condolences to the people who have lost homes, been evacuated during pandemic conditions, lost loved ones.

Good of you to say .

Isn't it wonderful that despite the insanity we can still cooperate and help each other.

And thanks, also to the courageous American firefighters who came to Oz to help out during our bushfire season (what Yanks call wildfires).

The firefighters might be considered 'essential workers' in these current times!!!

Your best way to express your gratitude to those men and women fighting to preserve American lives is to get rid of your sick man!

I am not sure if I mis-read this post or not but it makes little sense and comes across as very inappropriate.

This is why we can't have nice things here on CF. Someone always comes in with the wrecking ball.

The thread is about gratitude and cross-border cooperation. Lets try and keep politics out of it.

Perhaps I should have wrote «*simply go vote at your coming elections*». That would have better convey my message. Sorry!

Re: Thanks to Aussie and Canadian Fire Fighters

Thank you.

My hat is off to these guys (and women!) all over the world. It is unbelievable what they tackle in the rugged, inaccessible, mountainous areas here in BC - and I'm sure it's true everywhere in the world that face wildfire threats. The US west coast is once again being hit very hard (I had friends in Santa Rosa who were burned out a few years ago - lost everything) and it's all hands on deck to deal with it.

I can't believe anyone can work that hard in that heat!

Thank you everyone.

Adding my thanks to those firefighters from Mexico too!

To quote Ann Frank, “In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart.” Thanks to all the good at heart people.
