Re: Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse
The body of Jose Mynor Lopez, 37, the last missing construction worker, killed in the collapse of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge, has been recovered, officials announced Tuesday.
All six of the victims were Latino immigrants, who were working an overnight shift, filling potholes on the bridge.
Lopez moved to the United States, from Guatemala.
During a vigil last month, honouring the victims, mourners used a crane, to hoist a Guatemalan flag, in his memory.

Re: Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse
Hopefully the recovery of Jose Lopez's body will provide some closure to his grieving family and friends.
I wish that as part of the monetary settlement that the families of the workers that died will receive compensation for wrongful death and / or MSK steps up voluntarily and does what is rightful as to equity for the tragedy.
There should be a lot of work opportunities for immigrants to participate in building a new bridge.

Glad you mentioned this and I am so glad they are honoring those men. In these days of immigrants being called animals it restores my faith to see these men get the recognition they deserve.

Re: Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse
Crews set off a chain of carefully placed explosives, Monday, to break down the largest remaining span, of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge, in Baltimore; and, the mangled steel trusses came crashing down, away from the “Dali”, into the river below.
Officials said the detonation went as planned.
They said the next step, in the dynamic cleanup process, is to assess the few remaining trusses, on the Dali’s bow, and make sure none of the underwater wreckage is preventing the ship from being refloated, and moved.

They already have a tunnel. The old bridge was used to lower traffic in tunnel, and allow trucks with hazardous material to bypass tunnel.

But, 15 liter is the largest diesel I have worked on.
Are electric components requiring both the main and a generator to be running standard on this size diesel?

Not an unusual arrangement for big engines. There are a lot of systems on large sea going vessels which depend on the AC power system for their operation. Those big engines often have two lubricating systems: The crankshaft and lower engine is lubricated by one and a second "sacrificial" system lubricates the piston and upper engine. They also have a hydraulically operated exhaust valve and intake air blowers which need to be fully operational to start the main engine. The rudder is also hydraulically driven and needs AC power to drive the hydraulic pump.
The AC gensets can generally be run in parallel for redundancy and occasions when large amounts of AC power are required such as running anchor winches.
