I am trying to help a friend who is on an unsupported Ocean Rowboat of the coast of Mexico. He has found himself further of the coast than he wanted and is running out of food. He does not want to abandon the boat but is struggling to get east. Looking for a food drop or a tow. His location can be seen on Predictwinds. His boat is named Smiles. This is a confusing post as the rower called off assistance yesterday and he reported today that all is well. Does he need assistance?

He called of the assistance yesterday because it was going to mean he would abandon Smiles. He is looking for assistance that will allow him to keep his boat. He knows at this point he can not do it alone. He has had some equipment failures that are compounding the issues.

Hoping that his last post helps clear up the situation. He is in need of assistance, not rescue. If anyone can provide some but needs more details, I am in touch with him through the Iridium Go.

Looks like he got some food dropped off and is good to go for a while now.
It is an interesting story and I will probably check his location each morning and read his updates.

Yes he was able to get some assistance. Thanks all who at least looked to see if you could help. If you have an opportunity to meet him in passing, he certainly does have a pretty incredible story.
