Looking at the other ones out there, $35,000 USD will move it instantly if it’s clean and your stuff is off it.

Re: What price for quick deal?

I suspect that you will get less than you may have invested. There are a number for sale between €35k - €40k.

If you want a quick sale then you will have to price it aggressively.

Good luck, covid has spoiled many dreams.

Re: What price for quick deal?

With 2 manufacturers about to release vaccines in the 95% efficacy range I would hope we can go cruising this spring. In fact, I'm planning on it.

Currently French Polynesia and other island nations are allowing cruisers to come with restrictions that are reasonable. I expect they will be shutting their borders soon because of the rise in cases worldwide. This rise has been predicted from day 1 due to colder weather, more indoors, flu season etc. I'm thinking in the spring when the current rise has run it's course, nations will again reopen their borders with restrictions and this is without any vaccine which could change everything.

You might think about selling it, prep for selling it but have that as your backup plan.

My 2 cents worth anyway.

Re: What price for quick deal?

It's a blind pig in a poke right now.

Problem is unless things open up, expect the pool of potential local buyers to be small, so unless you get lucky, good chance it will take a while unless it's dirt cheap.

On the other hand, toys have been selling of late. Theory is since people can't go on vacation, they are buying a toy as an alternative. Not sure if that will continue especially if it looks like a viable vaccine is coming shortly.

A lot of it will come down to location and season. Is the boat still in Nova Scotia? That is out of the way for everyone but the sparse population of Nova Scotia. It's also not a great time of year going into Winter.

Re: What price for quick deal?

Boats were getting hard to find in Maine last summer, but I don't know about Nova Scotia. As Valhalla 360 noted, many people are buying boats as an easy place to tour safely in the time of CoVid, but you won't get out of Canada to the rest of the east coast of North America, so you would need a Canadian buyer. It is a pretty boat, but old, so the prices spoken of above are probably in the ballpark.

Re: What price for quick deal?

Canadian duty and taxes will add a chunk to the cost. Not an ideal place to sell a foreign boat.

Re: What price for quick deal?

Here on Lake Ontario, demand for sailboats boomed and prices skyrocketed last spring. Everyone wanted a boat to enjoy...its the perfect activity during a pandemic....self sufficient, totally distanced, etc.

There remains a high demand for decent sailboats here, and prices remain high.

I'm not reciting anecdotes...I've been trying to by a sailboat myself. When a decent, yet overpriced, boat comes up for sale, it is usually sold (over asking) before I get a chance to even view it. To that end....if you have a sailboat you want to sell on Lake Ontario...please contact me. 30 to 35 feet, shallow draft, good diesel, tiller preferred...C&C32 (shoal), Cape Dory 30, Mirage 33/35, etc. A sailor without a boat is like a cowboy without a horse.

Re: What price for quick deal?

Some friends recently sold their boat in Fiji for close to what they were looking for after they had to leave it there in April to return to Canada. One of our two boats is stuck in Tahiti - I say stuck because even though it is possible to fly to Papeete (with various kinds of not stringent restrictions, we don't want to. Sailing is restricted to French Polynesia because other nearby island nations are closed and New Zealand, our ultimate destination, is really closed.

We have our fingers crossed that by mid-2021 it will once again be possible to sail at least within the South Pacific and that by October, New Zealand will be open for cruisers.

I agree with those who suggest that selling a boat in Nova Scotia at this time of year and at this time in the pandemic will be very challenging. As some have suggested if it is cheap enough someone will buy it. But, the available market is very much restricted - entry from the US is not possible (with a few minor exceptions but these do not include buying a boat) and even entry from other parts of Canada at the moment is dicey.

The boat mentioned above was sold in Fiji, sight-unseen to a US based buyer and is being delivered back to the US by two Americans who happened to be in Fiji. Something similar could happen with a boat as handsome and as well equipped as yours.

Re: What price for quick deal?

US Entry rules may change soon,,,,,,,best to wait for spring and see where the C19 situation is.

On March 21, 2020, the U.S., Mexico, and Canada temporarily restricted non-essential travel across the US-Canada land borders. These restrictions will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. EDT on December 21, 2020.
