Thanks for posting more info on the model!
But i have to say that it had the original water tank from under the v-berth remade in stainless steel & it's 270ltr not 110ltr...so i don't know why that info is wrong on that page :/

Re: Westerly 33 Ketch, have to sell
33" boat from a good boat builder, with solars, big battery bank, watermaker, lots of maintenance done in 2017. Just crossed the Atlantic. A sizeable amount of spares and free stuff included in the sale.
For 16.5k $.
Is there anything I'm missing, pushing people away ?
Why is this boat not gone already ?
(Genuinely asking as a neophyte).

Urgent sale is what you are missing...
'Asking price' for two currently on the market in the UK is $US33k so they would probably sell in the high 20's ..
Westerly 33 Ketch boats for sale - YachtWorld
Given the numbers built there seem to be very few for sale... they are essentially the same boat as Bob Shepton's 'Dodo's Delight' ... a Discus

I think the only real issue might be the electric engine. Although I am a huge fan of electric, I'm guessing people might not like that. I'm seriously thinking of making an offer, and I'm not even in the market right now. Its a gorgeous boat.

Re: Westerly 33 Ketch, have to sell
For me the main issue is location. Trying to find a third-party I trust for an initial look, setting up a haul-out and survey if the initial look is positive, trying to get a sea trial and then the time (or cost to hire someone) to get it back to Houston area is too much for me at this time of the year.
The electric engine doesn't bother me at all. The ketch is a slight issue, as I prefer sloops.

What a steal...
If anyone knows of a similar bargain (similar equipment and ocean-going capabilities), for something 10' - 15' foot longer, then please direct me to it!!

This boat is haunting me. The price has come down so much, so quickly. It is so well equipped. I'm following the auction on ebay.
Yes, if it were closer to home I would go see it asap. It checks off almost all my boxes (except for shallow draft).
What happened to the constant supply of dreamers on this forum always wanting a circumnavigation-ready boat for the price of a used car?
But timing is everything. Its still hurricane season, and anyone with kids, especially in university (hello!) is busy at home right now. Once November hits, and everyone wants a boat someplace warm, I think it will be a different story. But this is all just speculation, and no help to the seller.

I believe the auction has now ended...
I have just sold a 33ft boat to buy something bigger. And yet this still appeals to me! It may be worth the punt just for 12 months Caribbean lifestyle, only to sell it again next year for at least the purchase price.

This.
Realistically, it will cost a cruising couple half the asking price of the boat to get to the buy decision point. Plane tickets on short notice and airlifting a surveyor is big bucks. If I was the seller, I would get the boat as close to the Miami airport as its draft will allow.
