For Sale or Trade: Turn Key Stuery Viking Houseboat in Key West trade for sailboat

I’d like to trade my restored 1981 Stuery Viking Houseboat for Bluewater capable boat. I currently live on this boat in Key West, and pull up anchor every weekend to cruise the back country islands. She seems to have less than 2 foot draft now with the engine swap. I have recently converted the houseboat to outboard propulsion. I have a Yamaha 225 OX66 mounted on a large outboard bracket that pushes the boat to almost 20 kn on a plane. I have converted it to have a king size bed inside, and retain the original galley and dining booth, that also folds down into a bed. This boat was made for someone who wants to explore all of the little mangrove islands and pathways the Florida Keys have to offer. I have grown old of a Key West lifestyle, I’ve been the GM of a nightclub for four years. I’d like to begin to plan my exit to the cruising life.

Everyone on here wants a cruising boat. This is a house boat.

Try listing it in a house boat forum, a Key West dreamers forum or just on a bunch of boats for sale sites.

Turn it into cash, then convert the cash to a different boat.

I know. Wooks want to stay away from capitalism. Ha ha . But you have some goals here. Batter and trade work when a lot of people need something. Nobody here needs a houseboat. People who need a houseboat are elsewhere.

She sounds fun. Someone will love the boat.

How much by the way? I have a wook friend who is kind of short on cash usually but may be able to do it.

Might help if you assign some approximate value to the houseboat or maybe what size and age sailboat you want to trade for.

Just a little video bump. I’ve been quarantine on this Houseboat since the beginning. Took it all the way out to the Marquesas, west of Key West. Spent two weeks out there all alone, life is good.
