After eight years of cruising
Mediterranean waters essentially full time,
Seaworthy Lass and I are now absolutely addicted to the lifestyle and have decided to fulfil a dream - to have a
new boat designed to our specifications. We have commissioned the build of a Bestevaer 49ST and we sadly need to bid farewell to the yacht that has kept us safe in comfort and style and provided so much pleasure over what have been the very best years of our lives. She is now offered
for sale.
This thoroughbred aluminium yacht was entirely professionally built and fitted out. She was constructed by Alumarine in
France, a specialist aluminium shipyard that has built everything from superyachts to vessels for harbour authorities and
emergency services. The
interior was finished in cherry by a team headed by Charles Remeau, a superbly skilled craftsman of the "old school" who created a warm, luxurious, nautical atmosphere.
Custom built for a couple who at the age of 60 were retiring and wanted to fulfil a lifelong dream of circumnavigating, which they did, this safe
offshore passage maker is indulgently designed for two, with an extra
cabin available for two guests.
Primarily, the yacht is strong and
sails beautifully. With an in-boom Leisure Furl system and twin roller furled headsails, she is easily managed. Safe cruising over long distances with low
maintenance systems were a priority with the design and fit out.
