I sailed a PDQ 36
Classic in the Grenadines back in 2003. Coming from a 29'
monohull the PDQ 36 was not too big a step. It was my first
multihull cruising experience and it was comfortable enough. It did slam a bit in 4' waves. After a week the
outboard motors quit and the
charter base substituted a Fountain Pajot Athena 38. It seems like a substantial upgrade. It was faster and did not slam in the same 4 foot seas and there was just more room everywhere. After 2 weeks on the Athena I would not have settled for the PDQ if choosing one or the other.
