I managed to buy an
Irwin 43, Hull#1. its a
ketch. I bought it for very little, have thrown a bit it. But it needs lots more $ than I feel like throwing into. the good. It floats, new bottom. new halyards and
sheets.
B&G Zues 3 7 inch radar/gps.
Propane systems for ext
grill and
stove work. New
windlass but not sure why it doesnt
work.
The bad. it just needs a good going through. The
Perkins 454 needs some love.
fuel pump is going out. the
fuel lines are rusting. dipstick rusting off. But it does run like a champ. The wireing is a hot mess. I was going to rewire the whole
boat, but summer hit, So its still a mess. It has 3 a/c units. I have not gotten into figuring out why they dont work.
Sails its a hodge podge of stuff that are not great or not there. the missen main is not there, the
genoa has a few minor wholes in it. the main, well the main come off my sov 30
race boat. Its a great heavy kevlar sail. needs slugs put on to fit the track. But the size is a 100%perfect fit. the staysail
jib is original and all the seems are gone. I would call it a right off.
There are tons of small issues with the int of the boat. the
wood covering
flooring is coming up everyehere, some headliners have been replaced with cloth by the prior owners. and lets just say some minor trim peices are missing.
Furler is in peices and I guess needs bearings or replacment.
its a
project boat. but the bones are very good for a
budget minded
liveaboard and/or handy person.
