swhall;
Thank you for asking.
With every trip we make to the "Buddha"-- it gets better and better. We just had the
fuel tanks cleaned and the
fuel polished. Added/improved the fuel distribution system at the same time. Other tweaks and refinements.
Loaded the battens in the main (what a sail). Checked the MSD Type III,
Holding Tank, etc., etc.. Then, we had a very good sea trial. Beta
Engine works flawlessly (it is the best! and their support - 2nd to none!) We have the prop pitched to hit 1800-2200
RPM max (best
cruise fuel flow about 3ltr/hr), and we hit 7.1 kts -- just what we wanted. To check
engine full range
RPM (for the survey) - we had to run in neutral - 3300 RPM and the Beta was smooth as silk (remember--less than 300 hours on this baby).
Unfortunately, I think the buyer was; "not quite ready," (just my opinion). He expressed high interest (loved the details - finish -equipment --etc.). But, his experience in sailboats was low (his admission), and he wanted to leave in a month. That seemed just too soon, IMHO. I suggested he get a minimum of 20 days of sailing in various conditions - minimum 4 hours a day--on the
water, before pushing off, plus a minimum of 1 hour a day "in the
books." There is a lot of
equipment when you look at the listing.
Several other potential owners on the horizon -
we keep the faith.
All things happen for a reason.
If interested - reach out and make a contact. Here, the
broker, FB, etc.
Showings can be arranged - and the DWY
boat show is soon too.
Regards, Jim
BTW - the
Spectra RO will need a new membrane -we have it "covered."
