Photos from 2017:
The vessel is currently in the
Marquesas but I intend on returning to it end of February/beginning of March and sailing it to
Hawaii. That's about the maximum amount of time I have available to be away so must sell either in F.P. or Hawaii. There is a likely chance that I'll give it to a
broker for resale once I make it there.
This
boat took me from
San Francisco down the coast to
La Paz,
Mexico and across to
French Polynesia. Upon my arrival in F.P. I was forced to return to southern
California to care for my dying mother (she passed in 12/2019) so the boat has been in hard
storage. The Covid outbreak withheld my return in 2020 and at this point simply too much of my life has been changed to accommodate a return to my original intention of a
circumnavigation.
The boat worked great throughout my trip. At one point the
rudder attachment to the post failed along the coast of
Baja so it was professionally repaired and reinforced in
La Paz, much stronger now than it was before. The
Hydrovane easily guided me the rest of the way down the coast and up into La Paz.
