The promised Indiantown Marina (Florida) sailboat
auction was a flop, no one showed so no
auction was held. The
boat I was interested in supposedly had a standing offer way over what I was willing to spend. He did say he had a
boat he would give me because he thought it was too nice a sailboat to destroy and he didn't want the expense of tearing it apart and paying the dump
fees. He showed me a 46-47ft (?) very
shallow draft wide stern boat that appeared in descent shape on the outside. I don't recognize the make but I think it may be a
gulfstar or something similar. Bottom appeared clean and the decks seemed solid.
Beware though, I went onboard and this is a true gut job,
mold and moisture damage throughout,
wiring shot and the
diesel seized. The marina owner said he would even throw in free yard time but I've got enough on my plate. I took a couple pics of the exterior and one of the HIN. Maybe someone will recognize this make and model and better yet, someone may find a
project. But be forewarned, bring your checkbook for the rehab!
