Katrina is a one of a kind ocean cruiser, designed for comfortable long passage and live aboard. The original hull is a Dubois 46 IOR racer, built by Kiwi Boatyard in 1981. The hull is sandwich epoxy, with full kevlar at and below the waterline.
This boat features a unique internal aluminum superstructure, interconnected between keel, mast, shrouds, backstay, forestay.

Everything on this boat we built to last through long passage, heavy weather and most importantly, so that it can be easily handled by 1 or 2 people. The boat has been actively maintained, recent bottom job - August 2018. We are hoping to find a new owner for Katrina, someone that enjoys the ocean and cruising lifestyle. Its time to make some new memories!

Some History:
We purchased Katrina in 2008 in good condition, yet it was completely bare: a head and a sink. We decided to completely rebuild her in 2009 and turn in to our dream ocean cruiser, that the two of us can easily handle in any seas and in most parts of the world. (I included 1 picture prior to the remodel).

The rebuild included:
Fabrication of aft pilothouse and cabin top (both honeycomb / epoxy).
Addition of Bow bulkhead, separate storage, anchor box and isolated crash box.
Swimming platform
reinforced rigging, furler set up for all sails.
Full interior buildout.
New tanks: Fresh water - 200 gal, Diesel - 150 gal, Holding - 30 gal.

A bump for a friend.

I have sailed on Katrina as a friend/volunteer crew for over 5,000 offshore miles. Very strong and fast vessel, rigorously maintained by her master mariner owner for the past 15 years. Sad to see her listed for sale as I always looked forward crewing on that boat.

On my old cell phone I have photos of her speedometer showing 12-14 kts going North in the Gulfstream. On that run we did Miami to Cape Cod Canal in exactly 5 days, with the engine off the whole time.
