sorry to hear that and what's with people and their finances? They are fully aware of what the price is, soooooo why the confusion unless they state "depending on financing." But even then, you should have all of that in place before going out and wasting people's time... Again, sorry to hear of this...

You could buy her, spend a year in SoCal learning her and sailing our local waters and then take her home... just saying. Might be able to keep her current slip.

Great video!! She's gorgeous with just the pics, but the video really shows how beautiful she really is.. And a very enjoyable narration about the boat, well done!!

The engine is what was speced by Tom Wylie the designer (I have most of the plans). That said, with clean bottom and prop Malaya will make 6.8 K running at 2400 rpm, and uses apx .75 gal per hour. Further she is quite fast and nimble under sail. I recall being asked what if I was on a lee shore with building winds...my response was I'd sail her out. She will easily sail close hauled to weather at 7-7.5 K and short tacking with staysail and reefed main is dead simple.

Over 6 knots should do it!
Also, I agree , it's always better to be able to sail off a lee shore and having a boat that can makes all the difference.
Some lucky Captain will get a wonderful boat.
