CSY 33

Hello fellow sailors! I am brand new to this forum! Looking to purchase a CSY 33 in which to adventure, firstly the great lakes then onto the eastern seaboard. I just love their classic look and blue water capabilities and the 33 is perfect size for me. I find once I put it out there to the universe (or in this case a great forum) things usually work out. Thanks in advance!

Re: CSY 33

I just bought this one last month. At the time, there were three in the local area; one was a desperately motivated seller who dropped the price to $25k. So keep the faith; they're out there. One bit of advice: If you see one you like, move quickly. At least in Florida, it seems to be a hot market for quality used boats right now. Many of the posted ads had already sold or accepted offers.

Thanks for words of encouragement!! And congrats!! I looked at those recent posts to find them all pending. I'm not to be discouraged. I only just started looking now. When the time is right, as they say. Roger that on acting fast. My 'sensei' salty skipper (as we call him) that I crew for owned the 44 version years ago and lived aboard for years with his wife all thru the Carribean.

No, the $25K one was a different CSY 33 in the Tampa area. But truthfully, as far as the fundamentals go, it was in many respects a better buy than the one I bought. I'm happy with my new boat, and was happy to get the price knocked down to $39K. The $25K one would have cost more than the difference in price to get it into comparable shape. But it was still a very fine boat for the price, and could have sailed away the day I looked at it.
