I'm not an expert on this but might you have better luck selling in California? I'm in the market (would be interested in your boat but need 3 cabins) and things seem to be selling here for the time being. The stuff I see here that's comparable seems to be listed at $200k, and not as well equipped. She was built here so no import duty, right? Might have better luck if you're in US waters, though it is a rough passage to get here.

Hi mate, not being a US citizen I couldn't get in at the moment...I think.
But your right, I'm sure she'd sell up your way.

Re: Catalina 470
Enjoyed the convo about your Catalina 47...
I just happened to look at a 2009 version located in Vero Beach....asking $274,000. I hesitate mainly due to the 6.2
Draft considered unkindly to Bahamas sailing. Just to verify...your boat is 68+ air and 7'9 draft.

Damn Dale... Had I not just spend nearly a mil on my home remodel, I would absolute buy this boat.
I'll just have to wait and maybe in the fall, regardless of AUD$, she'll still be available.
G'luck with your sale. Totally jealous of the future owner.

You've been logging some miles!

Re: Catalina 470
How was the trip in that unsafe production yacht of yours? Did that big cockpit make you wish you had brought a 20 ton snail where everyone bang's their knees when they are sitting down! LOL
Cheers

Lol, well Mexico was the plan but as the virus was spreading more through Mexico I just couldn't see myself sitting at Chiapas marina for 7 mths, decided to go cruising instead. So, while Sukha was needing nothing ,fully stocked and I had a crew I thought "head west young man".
Here I'm back in Anchorages and eating chocolate croissants as we I type, no restrictions. Will be in the tuomotus by the end of the week, been here in Nuku Hiva for 2 weeks.
I've been cruising full time for 10 years, to be honest I'm looking forward to some coastal cruising and other projects back home....theres only so many paradises one can see [emoji1787]

So, instead of complimenting you, how about I just compliment your choice of boat?
Yeah, that seems fair...
(and, what-do-you-know, I sail the same model boat you do....hmmm, I guess great minds do think alike!)
Seriously, Dale, I'm happy for you and continue to live vicariously along your passages...
Take care, have fun, and eat a friggin' croissant for me!
John

Lol, yep got lucky again!
We had approx 2000nm of very light winds , the code zero kept us moving, had 4 days of bad weather (SW on the nose)and one decent squall, approx 40 knots. Sukha didnt miss a beat. All up 3,500nm.
Really only got decent consident trades for the last 4 days, we did 760nm in those last 4 days.
Funny, only yesterday I was told by a owner of a small classic (old) boat how his boat is more comfortable at sea, that afternoon as he was wallowing around in a messy sea doing 3 knots we flew passed him doing approx 6 knots....it just gets silly.
Btw, Sukha has officially gone around the world now, shes now half way through her second Pacific crossing and looks great.
Theres 3 of us onboard at the moment, never passaged with 3 before, happy the cockpit is large.
Embarrassingly we used 2,300L of water, some crew dont get it !!!, crazy. Not doing 3 again.
