Boreal Designs Ellesmere Fiberglass Kayak, 17', Carbon Fiber Paddle - $1,699

This Kayak is located in Londonderry, NH.

This is an exceptional kayak with exquisitely beautiful lines. It looks like a traditional Greenland kayak but has many features that make it a modern classic. The boat rolls very well, it makes you feel like a champion roller. That said, even in wind over tide waves in the Piscataqua with giant quartering wakes, the boat never rolled on it's own so has good primary stability also. The lines of this design are truly gorgeous, especially on the water - this kayak literally draws crowds at the boat launch and people will paddle or motor over to you on the water just to tell you how pretty it looks. Suitable for lakes, coastal waters, or broad rivers. I've used it for camping and it was a lot of fun. The boat is in good condition with normal wear for a kayak that has been used but not abused. There are light scratches on the top front and rear from stowing paddles under the shock cords. The previous owner tried to fill in some scratches in the bottom gelcoat with regular epoxy, which are the brown swatches. They should be easy to sand away and fix properly if you want to (but they do not affect performance and aren't visible in the water). There is no structural damage to the kayak, none of the swatches are patches or structural repairs.

Features;
- Two water tight hatches, one front and one rear.
-Recessed deck fittings fore and aft.
- Shock cord deck lines running across the deck for attaching accessories, or quickly stowing a paddle.
- Built in dip in front of cockpit to rest a paddle on.
- The periphery of the kayak is ringed with rope to make it easy to grab the kayak in the water.
The keyhole cockpit has a good rise to the combing making it easy to fit a spray skirt over it, while still holding it securely.
- The seat is an upgraded ergonomic design with an adjustable back rest (tilt and height). The backrest also hinges backwards to lay down when you layback for rolls.
- Drop skeg for tracking over distance, easily retractable making tight maneuvering a snap.
- Integrates the benefits of the reverse hard chine with a semi-arched hull.
- Suitable for a beginner but really shines with an experienced paddler.
- Sturdy adjustable anodized aluminum foot rests.
- Thigh braces integrated into cockpit combing.

Specifications;
Length: 17'
Width: 22"
Weight: 52 pounds
Depth: 12"
Cockpit: 16 x 30"

Included with the kayak;
- Aqua Bound carbon fiber paddle (including blades) with ovalized handle (indexes paddle in hand automatically). Multiple feather positions.
- Seal spray skirt in usable condition. The edges are a little worn, causing pin holes, allowing a little water in during a roll.
- Velcro attached deck back. Super easy to install, and super useful. Buckle attachments on left and right side. Easy drain mesh pocket up front. Large main pocket.
- Voyageur paddle float for self recovery. Although, I found that self recovery without the float or a buddy was possible with this boat.

I will deliver (for a fee).
I prefer to trade for cash, but will consider big boat toys (radar, chart plotters, AIS, sails, windlass, etc.)
If you have any questions please ask!

This is an amazing kayak to paddle. Although I'm sure this has sold by now, do you by chance know the original RAL colour for the Ellesmere? Thanks.
