Wow! Just a moment, there must be something I don't like about this boat! I'll find it eventually.

Re: Aluminum 30' Ted Brewer cutter

Engine??

Oops...forgot that engine detail:

Yanmar 3GM30F with approximately 1350 hours now; transplanted from a newer boat that went aground in St Augustine. Oasis Marine engine mounted and aligned the prop with a new PPS shaft seal and 3 bladed bronze 13" prop. Starts quick with no smoke, and runs up to 3400 rpm, cruises at 2500 rpm.
Here's some photos from this weekend installing a new impeller using Tef-Gel (always) and one photo of how I drained and cleaning the fuel tank using as a final touch a fine cotton cloth at the bottom under the baffles.

Easy access to the engine, transmission and fuel tanks.
Thanks for the interest.

Re: Aluminum 30' Ted Brewer cutter

Wow is right. Bump for the Bulldog. I could see a younger version of myself doing a solo circumnav in this boat. Good luck with the sale.

Re: Aluminum 30' Ted Brewer cutter

That's what Ted Brewer himself replied when I send him my posting with photos last year: "I'd go around the Horn with you...if I were 30 years younger." Here's a couple of the original lofting plans for my builder.

This is excellent live aboard go-anywhere boat. I had the steel version, 15 years, 3 crossings mostly single-handed, 3 continents, wonderful times in a extremelly safe and strong sailing boat.
Unfortunately I was forced to sell, and the last news I got was when hurrycane Gonzalo got her, smacked the heck out of her against a concrete wall but she floated and didn't even loose her mast. I have the pictures to proove.

I wish I was in the market for a boat. Someone will benefit to have this kind of boat offered for sale, as far as I know, there were only 4 of them built. Good luck with the sale.

Re: Aluminum 30' Ted Brewer cutter

Couldn't agree more, and I appreciate the news on your good boat weathering a storm. Sure would like to see photos of the little bulldog.

I contracted my welder friend to fabricate the swim step that doubles to protect the rudder. Same for the Sampson post schedule 40 aluminum pipe. These are the modifications possible with alloy hulls and decks.

Any chance to see your storm photos?
Thanks, Kevin
