Actively looking for a trimaran

An experienced sailor is actively looking for a smaller trimaran, preferably in New England. I'm looking for a classy easy to handle boat suitable for single handed cruising. Accomodations can be spartan. Something like a Newick Val would be the goal but at this point the options are wide open. I may end up settling for the more common folding production boats but I want to start with alternatives. Nothing too funky or amateur built. I'm ready to buy a boat I can sail this summer. Send me an email through this list.

Have a look at https://www.multihull.nl/multihulls/...-occasions.htm , a broker specializing in second hand multihulls and on www.yachtworld.com.
I have seen some Val at evecom previously.

Another good site is this:
http://www.goldenoldies.biz/

They have sometimes boats for sale or which they want "rescued". Alternatively they may be able to give you some contact data in your area.

Also have a look in the multihull section of this forum. There is a thread on cheap project boats too.

Good luck!

I have a 31-foot Searunner, but it's on the wrong coast.

I've heard of that coast, the one where you can watch sunsets rather than dawns.

With sunrise gazing you also get to look at mountains at the very same time.
I don't know how they do it.

Re: Actively looking for a trimaran

So how do I find a Val, a Spark, an Outrigger or something similar and Newick-like. I've exhausted the internet. Any suggestions for finding a boat?

Re: Actively looking for a trimaran

Find a "Newick" forum (if one exists) or other multihull forums and ask around there if anyone knows of one up for sale, as you've done here.
You can also call marinas close to home if any boat on their property fits the description of what you're looking for.
Ask them to pass on your number to the owner(s) and the fact you're willing to make an offer to purchase.

Have you tried contacting NEMA (New England Multihull Association)
Also some older adverts for newick tri's on Sailboatlistings.com

Here is a place where you can look at both sun events and buy a Tri 33' 1984 from Marc Ginesty.
But it's at your antipode.
