Re: 43'-54' Sailboat (cruising/liveaboard)

JRjr,
Congrats on your find! And thank you for the suggestion; I have been monitoring the site.
Reached out to a few older posts that were either sold, or non-responsive.
I do have more criteria, but didn't want to over-filter and miss on a possible owner thinking of selling and reaching out before they list it.
I'll definitely keep tabs on it.
I'm not new to sailing...not new to being a mariner...and not new to boat searching...but I am [overly] selective.
Thanks again for your link, and good luck with your new boat!!

43'-54' sailboat

Budget:
~ $250K (flexible +/-$Gs, - definitely depends on boat/circumstances)

Must have:
- owners cabin with a square queen (not a vberth as owners)
- draft: less than 6.5'
- at least one dry head w/shower stall
- headroom for 6'2" sailors
- frig & freezer

Preferred:
- 110/240 US Spec
- traditional main
- nonskid decks
- no storm damage
- Location: North American East Coast; Caribbean

Why 43'-54':
- Inclusive of models that I have already been on that would fit my needs.

Boat's intended purpose:
- N. American East Coast to Bermuda/Caribbean cruising.
- Seasonal to full-time liveaboard

Really appreciate any feedback from anyone - serious or sarcastic (expected) - but do prefer productive leads!!

Thanks. And happy sailing!!

More than what you wanted to spend. Using your comment as a springboard to list my Fountaine-Pajot Orana 44 for $400,000.

If still looking, we are selling our Island Packet 420, which meets your specs perfectly. You can view the yacht at sailboat listings.com. She is located in Tampa Florida. Let us know.

Hi Froggy Seas,

We're selling our Bruce Roberts 45 that meets your requirements: aft cabin with queen berth, two heads (one with shower), extra-tall headroom (maybe 6'6" in saloon?), fridge and freezer, US spec electrical system (including solar, wind, inverter), traditional main, non-skid decks, no storm damage, currently located in St. Petersburg, Florida. An incredibly comfortable liveaboard and totally cruise-ready (we just moved off after cruising the US east coast and both the eastern and western Caribbean). You can check out the listing at Seamaster 45 Cruiser BruceRoberts Sloop 1986 Sailboat. Any more questions, just let us know.

Re: 43'-54' Sailboat (cruising/liveaboard)

I’ve become a Jeanneau groupie so my first thought was a Fresh Water Jeanneau 430 which was for sale in May.
The Jeanneau dealer in the Maritimes US and Canada has maybe 10% of his boats listed on advertising sites. Their own web site doesn’t tell you who is about to trade a boat. Last I looked they had a couple Catalina’s Beneteau. I’m interested soon in a 440. One of the best features of the 380,410,440 are they fit standard queen sheets. The 380 is I think 179,000.00USD
And options another 50-70.
Up until the “scow “ bows came out V births were hard to avoid.
C&C had two big beds and great head room in one of their bigger boats. Even the new Jeanneau 60 has two forward cabins with queens with the hull side curved.

I agree with Sailorboy1, this guy is a tire kicker. He admits to being ultra-selective, so he’s wasting everybody's time on this forum.
I’m so glad I’ve decided to sell my boat when I don’t need to, or even want to. It must be terrible to be forced to sell your pride and joy and have to deal with people like Foggy Seas.

Good day,

I am sorry to learn that you may have difficulty finding your boat.

There are boats available, but it might require a different budget approach.

What is your preference: Cat or mono?

If a Catamaran, there is a 44' 2012 Fountaine-Pajot that fits the criteria bar two.

Hope you will find what you are looking for. Can you up your budget to 375?

Re: 43'-54' Sailboat (cruising/liveaboard)

My last boat is about to go on the market. 52’ Aluminum aft cockpit sloop. Center board with 40pct ballast and sails like a dream. Looks like a little harbor, designed by Dieter Empacher. Fabulous boat and priced well below your budget but needs work. Perkins aux has over 10K and needs a rebuild. Based in Stamford CT previous owners lived on her for over a decade and she has crossed the Atlantic many times.
