What is the steel thickness? Is the cabin top steel or wood?

(another tire kicker, got 2 steel boats now!)

All steel, hull, deck, cabin trunks, tops. (see post #8) All hull to deck joins, cabin tops, etc., double radius and welded - never any hull/deck joint leaks, window leaks, and no possibility of soft decks and rotted core!
Plating thickness:
- bottom of keel 1/2"
- keel sides 1/4"
- hull bottom and sides 3/16"
- topsides 1/8"
- framing 5/16 X 3" flat bar on 30" centres
- longitudinals 1/4 X 1 1/4 flat bar on 8" centres
- fuel and holding tanks 1/2"

I notice there's no dodger or bimini. Did you ever have either? Or did you ever wish you had them?

Those are good numbers for the steel. I once saw a 50' Colvin made out of 10ga all around. That was pretty light.

Cormorant: no dodger, no bimini. Yes, I have at times wished for one. It is not quite as easy with the low boom of the schooner rig, but I have come up with several plans, not yet implemented. Now that health issues have caught up with me, I guess that will be up to the new owner. Currently finishing up a rebuild of the electrical systems on the boat.
