If you haven't already, go to Boats for Sale - New and Used Boats and Yachts - YachtWorld.com.
You can enter your specific search criteria.

Good luck!

The only boats that came up on Yacht World (that actually fit the requirement).

2007 Grainger 433 XC Sail Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

2009 Oram 40 Sail Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

Best of luck.

Re: 40 to 45ft Catamaran

I don't know where you are living. Is it Australia? Then you would be probably better off looking for something in the Schionning / Grainger range or a cheap Seawind. You have chosen the 3 production cats that are mass produced which I find curious when there are so many great designed boats out there at a reasonable price. Don't forget bringing a boat into Australia yourself, you will need to pay 15% on the price of the boat and 15% on your delivery. Starts making it extremely expensive. I have bought quite a few boats into Australia and then you need to make them Australian compliant if you want to use a marina/yacht club. My point being this is all money. So shopping locally will save you money in the long run. Your price of $400k is probably a bit low in my opinion. Maybe think outside the 3 mass produced boats you have picked and look at things like a Fusion 40 and the other boats I have suggested. You'll probably pick something up in your price range and remember it doesn't matter if the boat is only 10 years old as a 10 year old boat is due to have new sails, new rigging, basically a mini refit. Sometime better to look at a slightly older boat that has already had it all done. These are my thoughts from quite a few years experience of playing with boats.

Re: 40 to 45ft Catamaran

It's big investment, and you have to think about point when you will have to sell it, no matter what. In modern world mass-production boat is easier to sell, period. (Unless it's something like St.Francis 50, but it would be crazy overpriced to buy in first place).
Nearly ALL custom/one-off bigger catamarans that were on the market 1.5 years ago, still on the market today. Ones that been sold - either very cheap or after HUGE price drop (like 50-75%).
I also agree with OP regarding the age. On the old boat MOST LIKELY all systems will be old, outdated, tired, as will be interior, layout.
There are few 9-11 yr old Lagoon 440 currently on the market under $300K. Should be enough room to bring it to Australia and do necessary repairs.

You should also consider throwing in a Lagoon 400 as well.

Are you flying to the boat?
