40 - 44 ft Catamaran
I'm desperate to get afloat again. Unfortunately, my budget is seriously limited, being a megre €120k!
If any of you know of anyone selling a seaworthy catamaran, please point them to this thread. Thank you, merci, gracias, danke, obrigado...
First prize:
- GRP, foam sandwich.
- Based in the EU and VAT paid
- Max 3 cabins (guests are like fish, they go off after three days )
- Galley up
- Not interested in luxuries such as air-con
- A cruising history would be a big bonus

I know, I know. Sadly, I don't have a magic-money tree. If I did, I'd magically increase my budget by a ziga-zillion

Unfortunately first prize will be near on impossible, but some of the attributes including the price are doable. Just be patient, be prepared to travel and search every site you can ! Also be ready to “move” when you find it. We lost out on some opportunities by being committed elsewhere at that time.

Re: 40 - 44 ft Catamaran
You could get first prize plus a bit more, at the same length expectation in a monohull, at that price point.

Re: 40 - 44 ft Catamaran
Agreed. My first boat was a 39ft mono that I did just over 14,000NM on. Sadly, it rolled like a pig at anchor resulting in me feeling queasy at anchor. I sold that boat and bought a catamaran, which was the end of the seasickness issues. Yep, for me, cruising is all about performance at anchor. I don't give a damn about sailing performance because there is no rush when cruising.

Re: 40 - 44 ft Catamaran
Have a look on yachtworld using the price filter. You are not too far out on some of them, so make the offer. They can only say no ! But believe me when someone wants to sell, they want to sell.
It’s good for you to get a feel of what’s out there. I see a 47 footer, production boat, that I knew in the 90s as well maintained and chartered by the owner. That owner used to sail away from the hurricanes rather than dry store like ourselves. Looking rather sad now and been on the market for about 5 years, now asking about $150k. Imagine 5 years of maintenance and mooring fees ?

Thanks for that.
I can't find anything like Swish on Yachtworld. Could you post a link to it, please?
