SMJ…..how could you possibly not see the bargain right before your very eyes?
Well this is certainly a most unfortunate turn of
events for myself. I was in the middle of writing up my formal offer of $97.5K USD, with provisions to waive a sea trial,
survey or in person
inspection and
purchase this unique and well maintained vessel sight unseen via a direct
money transfer utilizing PayPal, Zelle, Bitcoin or any other method of the sellers choosing. But alas it is not meant to be as, while authoring said offer, I was made aware of the sellers steadfast stance of accepting no less than $98K. I am now forced to continue searching for my new vessel. I can only hope and pray another vessel of this quality and condition in a similarly well outfitted and upgraded condition finds it’s way to me.
I was really hoping to
purchase this gem as I recently found a full “rig” to purchase for this exact make/model vessel right here on this very forum. I believe it to be quite reasonable as it can apparently be had for a mere $10K. And luckily it would fit this exact boat…….what are the chances of these stars aligning so perfectly I ask?
I am lead to believe that a very giving and philanthropic
member, perhaps the same
member offering the above mentioned “rig”, has offered to sell two SD20 sail drives which also appear to be a perfect fit for this
boat. They should be in near perfect condition as they have been sitting for only 9 years and, furthermore, the seller has generously offered to remove the sail drives while still in the
water. And all for the very reasonable
price of $1400 a piece. Although they may accept offers of less as they have not communicated their “price is firm” stance as with the vessel above.
Lastly, if you are in need of engines to
power the above referenced sail drives, the benevolence of this seller seems to know no bounds as they are also willing to sell two
Yanmar engines, in an apparent complete or partial state of disassembly, and in need of rebuilds, at the deeply discounted
price of $1800 each.
The possibilities are seemingly endless with the myriad of
parts, pieces and hulls available, via this forum, that one could pick up for a mere pittance and cobble together to make a
blue water capable fine sailing yacht……….now if we can only find a suitable
anchor to make this deal complete.
Safe Journeys,
