Re: 35'-40' Blue Water Cruiser
Hello, I have an MC39 for sale. great sailing boat built here in British Columbia in 1981. Excellent condition. I bought it to go offshore but my new partner and i have decided to buy a cataraman.
It is cutaway long keel, no rot in the decks, new rigging, new cockpit enclosure, solar arch, cutter rigged with bowsprit. Very well balanced sailboat. 65hp Isuzu engine with 3800hours.
We can discuss delivery to Florida. I am looking for USD$70k

Re: 35'-40' Blue Water Cruiser
Well, we're still looking. Finding the right boat is much more difficult than I imagined it would be. Driving from Florida to Virginia to look at boats along the way. Leaving Thursday. Any and all leads appreciated!!!

Also of interest are full-keeled boats and boats with a longish fin keel, skeg-hung rudder and prop in an aperture built of aluminum, steel or fiberglass. Seaworthiness and the ability to survive a collision are important considerations but it should be able to sail also. We're located in north Florida but will consider boats located in other regions. Our "all-inclusive" budget is $100K MAXIMUM. This includes the purchase price of the boat plus anything needed to get it in "ready-to-go" condition. Spending 1/2 that much (or less) would be preferable. If you have a Bluewater Cruiser you'd like to sell or know of one that's available at a reasonable price, please let us know. We don't mind getting our hands dirty or making repairs/upgrades but we're not looking for a multi-year project either. We're anxious to get going as quickly as we can. Thanks!!!!

"Beachable" and "Blue water" are not compatable.

Re: 35'-40' Blue Water Cruiser
The Alubat Ovni line of aluminum-hulled centerboard boats are beachable and VERY seaworthy.

Re: 35'-40' Blue Water Cruiser
Hogfish Maximus is for sale and will fit your budget with change and will do everything the Ovni will do ( which does not fit your budget) Not metal but massively strong build. I have no connection and just saw she was for sale this morning and have always admired her, a special boat for the right buyer.

Re: 35'-40' Blue Water Cruiser
Thanks. "Hogfish Maximus" is a REALLY interesting boat.
If she was only built from aluminum or steel instead of plywood....
