Re: 2006 Schionning 50' Waterline 1480 Catamaran

Could you add a little more info to the listing?

Just a little humor there... Looks like a great boat, and certainly well laid out. Some lucky new owner will have a lot of good times with it.

They provide plans and material of the highest possible standard with service.

MATERIALS:

The principal materials used in the hulls are strip planked Durakore end-grain balsa core using carbon fiber and west system epoxy. All chain plates are carbon fiber composite.

RIG:

It’s a sloop rig with roller furling jib and screecher. The main sail has lazy jacks and reefing leading to the helm. The 60 foot mast, 17 foot boom, and stainless steel wires were newly installed in March of 2016 prior to sailing the catamaran from Freemantle, Australia to Honolulu, Hawaii. The captain said the catamaran sailed beautifully in all weather conditions with no problems with the rigging.

SAILS:

The main sail is made by UK Halsey, and fully batten with two reefing lines running to the helm. Head sail, jib, is a UK Halsey self-tackling headsail. Profurling furling system New 2012. The bowsprit has a demountable 2x Profurl for screecher sail. All winches are self tailing, including two electric winches.

PROPULSION:

Powerful shaft drive 55 hp Volvo motors help ensure fast transit times when the wind drops. Engines are located in the aft, separate engine rooms. Minimal noise and no heat transfers to the main living quarters. The two Volvo engines are strong enough to propel the catamaran at 10 knots with fuel consumption at 2.5 liters per hour per engine.

EQUIPMENT:

Electronics are Raymarine E120 chart plotters with radar, depth and speed indicator: one at the helm station and one at the navigation station. The autopilot is located on the helm station fully functional and easy to use, along with a compass and various engine gauges.
Electricity management acdc 220v, 110v, 12 v are located at the navigation station. 6x BP Photovoltaic Solar are located on the tail. 2x sun-saver regulator switch 2x voltage sensitive relays are part of the solar system. The Ebasto 20000 BTU 9.8 kW CPAC 20D REVERSE CYCLE can cool or heat all births and Saloon. The water heater is easily accessible in the storage cabinet located on the starboard head. Opposite hull stores the Schenker Smart 30 liter per hour water maker. Shore power is a 220v with a 110v converter. Both daggar boards are electrically operated. There is an electric anchor windless and 2 self-tailing winches; one at the helm and one at the base of the mast.
There is a single side band radio and a AIS VHF marine radio.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT:

Life jackets for up to 14 people are on board. A new light and easy to handle, 2019 inflatable tender: Hydro Force with a 2.5 hp 4 stroke, Yamaha outboard can hold over 800 lbs. It’s conveniently stores from the stern dinghy davits. A 4 man Life raft in a soft case is usually stored below the helm station. The AIS VHF radio will broadcast your heading and name to the coast guard and other vessels. There’s also a life ring and 3 fire extinguishers and 2 inflatable harnesses on board.

Don't complain too much, at least he had the asking price right at the beginning of the message instead of buried in the middle somewhere.

Re: 2006 Schionning 50' Waterline 1480 Catamaran

Me too, I met Joe onboard and he advised me about the suit, then I spoke with the owner Ursula, who was very upfront about the bizarre legal battle.
She should not be offering it for sale and wasting people's time until the lawsuit is resolved.

Re: 2006 Schionning 50' Waterline 1480 Catamaran

Wow, and I thought boats were supposed to depreciate? Sold for $195k three years ago, then the seller changed his mind and wanted 295, and now it's 360? How interesting.

Boat is a legal mess, and should be ignored until the lawsuit is resolved.

If you check the price of sister ships the 360 price is low compared to what other sellers are asking. The 195 and 295 are the prices that are out of line. But the guy suing said something about doing $US95,000 in repairs; that is what he is suing for.

While there does seem to be a legal mess over the title the 360 price seems legit if the boat is in the shape the seller claims.
