My wife and I purchased this sailboat in Grenada last year with the intention of sailing back to Florida and then reselling it there. We made it as far as St. Thomas and when Covid hit we had to put it on the hard and return home to WA state. We are returning to St. Thomas on 2/9/21 to do a little work on her and probably cruise to ST. Croix and then on to Puerto Rico and am planning putting the boat for sale sometime in April but I thought I may as well list it here now and if somebody wants it sooner it can be looked at out of the water now at IBY in St.Thomas or anywhere between St. Thomas and Puerto Rico in the next couple of months.
You can skip the "Thorney Path" and buy this boat already in USVI!
No sales tax to register in USVI!
The boat is having new bottom paint done before we arrive and I plan on replacing all batteries when I get there.
One of the reasons we liked this boat when we bought it was because it had just came across from France and went up for sale so pretty sure it had never been through any hurricane.

So what is the deal with purchases in St. Thomas? We are window shopping now for what we will be buying sometime toward the end of 2022. Not sure yet if we want a monohull or a Cat. Well we know we want a Cat but the affordableness of a monohull is very attractive knowing we likely wouldn't have to finance. But curious about the how registration and taxes work.
