2000, 45ft Leopard: Ready to Sail Away!

$295,000.00
Wilmington, NC

I bought Madam Queen not long ago and have been very pleased with her. She points better than I expected, sips fuel under power at 8knts, and has every possible system a voyager could want or need. Knowing it can take a long time to sell a vessel, I am listing her ahead of really and truly being ready to part with her, but if it happens then it was meant to be. Part of my plan is to continue to live aboard, do a little work/maintenance every day (I do so enjoy it), and also continue to upgrade her as I dreamed. I have a survey from April 12, 2016 and am working through the list of minor items, perfecting her.

When I was looking for a boat I developed a list of non-brand specific specifications that I wanted. Items I felt not only insured a more reliable vessel, or more blue water capable vessel, but also more low/easier maintenance.

I wanted Yanmar diesel engines with shaft drives. Sail drives have some maintenance issues that shafts don't. Skeg hung rudders are stronger. Sacrificial keels keep the boat safer in the event of a hard grounding. The props are protected between the keel and rudder.

I wanted a 12v watermaker, radar, strong autopilot, solar strong enough to power the boats daily electric demands, good fuel and water capacity, decent bridge deck clearance, reliable heads, good headroom, comfortable berths, good refrigeration/freezer, etc.

I wanted A/C with heat AND dehumidifiers. So I had to have a good generator to power it.

Above all, this vessel sold me because the engines and most electronics, and standing and running rigging have ALL been replaced in the last couple years. So you get a boat with thicker/stronger hulls (they used a lot more material in 2000 than they do now!) and virtually new systems,,,all at a very reasonable price! Win/Win/Win.

Take a look. More pics to come by 07Oct2016.

Thanks and fair winds,
Scott

I'm actively selling her now. Just had a full detail, compound and wax. She looks Great! I'm no longer living aboard. My current plan is to take her to Whittaker Creek Yacht Harbor in Oriental and put her into charter. She will remain for sale unless she rents well this summer.
