1987 Catalina 25 Tall Rig

Boat sails very well — well maintained and improved whenever needed — 9.8 Tohatsu outboard - Sails and rigging in great shape — jib, genoa, and main — comes with Raymarine Dragonfly 7 Chartplotter — all deck hardware rebedded 2016 — brand new long bench cushions for the cockpit — we never used them but you could even use them to replace the old ones down below — cushions down below are original and naturally, the woven fabric covers are splitting in a few places - we just covered them with towels — everything works well!!

The Catalina 25 is the most popular 25 foot boats ever made of its size and with the two best options this Catalina goes to the top of the most desirable list. With the tall rig for great sailing performance and the wing keel for performance and shallow water sailing with a draft of only 2.83 feet. This boat is perfect for cruising, day sailing or racing on the gulf coast.

Tohatsu 9.8 4 stroke electric start outboard with 4 blade power prop, VHF, West Marine Stereo with 4 speakers, cockpit mounted depth sounder and compass, electric and manual bilge pump, new cockpit cushions, cockpit shower, spray hood (dodger), bimini with additional cockpit cover, new mainsail cover, jib bag, 110 working jib and 135 genoa, custom lazy jacks, 2 bank house batteries with charger, ice box and alcohol two burner stove, marine head with maserator and holding tank. HDPE (high density polyethelene) balanced rudder is new.

We LOVE this boat. Google it. EVERYONE LOVES this boat. We bought a bigger cruising boat and this one that we LOVE so much needs a new sailor to take over. You will love this little Catalina 25.

$4,000 OBO

Currently docked at Bahia Marina in Ingleside on the Bay, Texas — on Corpus Christi Bay of the Gulf of Mexico

Re: 1987 Catalina 25 Tall Rig

Hi Rich

I have more pics and have tried to attach them to this email. If they aren’t there or if you would like more, please let me know.

There is not a roller furling on the headsail. We kind of thought we wanted one, but honestly it is so easy to sail and the sails go up and down so readily and without much muscle :-) that we never pursued it.

The boat uses a tiller — again — we thought we couldn’t wait to have a bigger boat with a wheel.... this one with the tiller is so fun and you have so much kinesthetic contact with the force of the water that I think it would not be nearly as much fun to sail without the tiller.

The bottom — is good but needs cleaning and will need a bottom job relatively soon - but not immediately. I think the last bottom job was 2016 (but could have been 2015). When we were sailing it twice a month, the bottom stayed clean. After we got the new boat and couldn’t sail this one as often, it’s bottom didn’t stay as clean. We have a friend at the marina who has sailed it some, but not as much as we did.

The cushions are original and it shows (1987 year model). We covered them with towels and found this to be a very good solution as it allowed us to repeatedly clean them whenever we wanted without much trouble.

There are two berths, a V berth and a 1/4 berth. Between the stove and sink, back in the corner is a freezer compartment that works with block ice.

This is a very fun boat that I really LOVE and if I didn’t have to pay for it’s slip..... I’d keep it for myself forever. No kidding.

Anything else, please let me know.

Trudi
