But they sure did put a lot of sweat equity into the Hallberg-Rassy.

I agree Macblaze... Abandon Comfort is one of my favourite YouTube channels. They are both smart, hard working, and thrive on a minimalist and sustaining attitude. In a simple word, they are awesome, and if more people who commented here watched their channel they wouldn't feel the need to "save" this couple from themselves. They have a better idea of their needs and wants then all of us combined.

I only see two mistakes here... one, I didn't see this in time to fly down there and buy it... and two, they asked too little because I would have payed more!!! [emoji3]

I look forward to many more episodes of Abandoned Comfort in the months and years to come!

Lol, you guys crack me up. We're on our way to Key West next week. If you're still around I'd love to get a hit of whatever it is you're smoking.

Seriously though it seems like you're looking at this from the perspective of what it costs to live at a marina. Ya, going smaller will save you slip fees and to an extent all the other big maintenance items.

But didn't you just complete all those big ticket items on your current boat?

Going smaller does not save you a whole lot of money when living on anchor. In fact it can be quite the opposite as some others have pointed out.

I don't understand your logic but to each their own. There is a boat out there that is right for everyone I suppose.

Good Luck

I don't think they are looking at it from the marina cost perspective. There is really not many savings going from 35 to ... 30? 27? Many marinas impose a 30 something feet minimum anyhow. So, it won't save them much money that way. TCO (total cost of ownership) might decrease, but not by that much. I guess they just want to live differently. I can't "agree", it wouldn't be MY choice. But, it seems they have thought about it quite a bit. Cheers to them!

Hi guys,

How's the sale going? Did everything work out or are you still looking for a buyer?

Hi everyone, have to say we really appreciate the civility of this thread. It is a breath of fresh air compared to reading youtube comments

She sold to the first viewer about a week after listing. Sorry for any inconvenience and best of luck to you all!

And yes, we are already hard at work on our new 100% sustainable vessel

Congratulations. Will you be posting updates to the existing Youtube channel, or when you're done with the new boat will you launch a new / separate channel for it?
