1980 Endeavour 32 for sale or trade

I've been reluctant to post this, it feels a little like failure on these forums. But I know it's really just a re-set, the journey is not over.

My 1980 Endeavour 32 is up for sale - or I would trade it for something a bit smaller such as a Cape Dory 28, a Westsail 28, or a southern Cross 31. You can see what I'm interested in, something smaller with with a full (ish) keel and tiller steering. NO wheel steering.

Here is a link to where the boat is listed with many many pictures and a video. She is in Jacksonville Florida and the asking price is $24,800.

https://www.yachtworld.com/yacht/198...sloop-8702685/

I am semi-working for the broker, Larry Redmond, so I think we can make a pretty good deal for someone.

The previous owner did a lot of good things to the boat, such as the bronze ports, new sails, and solar panels. And I have done a lot of things over the last year too. New plumbing, new head and holding tank, new batteries and more. She is VERY clean. Just changed engine oil and there is nothing holding her back from going anywhere. No soft spots, no structural issues, everything works, no leaks, she's a very dry boat. It was one of the reasons we bought her in the first place.

Unfortunately my wife is just having too much difficulty on the boat because of bad knees. And she's just not as into it as she wanted to be. But I have her full permission to pursue the dream solo as long as I don't forget where home is.

I really would be very interested in a Cape Dory 28 or something similar.

Thanks, and I'll answer questions here if you like. Or PM me. Or call Larry and talk to him and he could give you my number. It's all good.

I will post a couple of pictures to adhere to the rules, but the link has a ton, plus the video.

Sorry to hear the missus's knees are getting her down, the climbing up and down the companionway can get wearing, had a mate who had to quit because of old sport injuries and a tendency for a knee to give way at inopportune moments.
Kudos to her for green lighting the solo dream..
Best wishes for a quick sale.

Gorgeous!
Does Redmond still have that 25D listed?

Boatman, thank you !

Harmony, no, that little gem sold to an elderly couple that took all the way around to the St. Petersburg area.

I like the 25D but it is just too small for me. The CD28 hits my sweet spot. As Goldilocks would say - it's just right !

A beauty, wish she had been for sale two years ago.

I agree with you about wheel steering.

I appreciate the comments. She really is super clean and ready to go. In fact I'm going out tomorrow to spend the night. I plan to enjoy her as much as I can.

It really shows that you put a lot of work into the boat. Are you sure it's not too big for you to solo?

Re: 1980 Endeavour 32 for sale or trade

I'm not sure about the ports, I just know they are bronze and the PO put them in because he was tired of dealing with the leaky plastic ones. Not sure what he paid but I know they don't leak anymore !!

As far as the size....sigh...no, it's not really too big. I think it's more a question of "ergonomics." The boat just doesn't "fit" me right, for whatever that's worth. I guess it's all about pros and cons. It's got a ton of storage, especially if it was just me. But I don't like the wheel at all - especially if it's just me.

Hell, if it doesn't sell in time I'll pull it off the market and finish prepping it for the Bahamas and just go. Throw a couple of used wheel drives onboard for spares and I'd feel ok about it. It will definitely carry everything I could need for my first go round.

It’s a great solo boat, but I may be biased

Been eye balling that one for a few days on Yacht world. Funny to see it here with the owner!

Good luck selling it, I would be highly interested if I were a little further along in experience and ability to work on it.
