Re: 1971 Allied Luders 33

Thank you, Tatia! We've really enjoyed her but are getting ready to move on. We may have found our next boat and will be marketing "Endeavour" more aggressively in the next few weeks. Serious offers will all be considered......
Not mentioned in the original ad/post is that she could use a new dodger and sail cover. The existing ones are serviceable; I would replace them next but it wouldn't make sense if the new owner would like a color other than navy.

Re: 1971 Allied Luders 33

Thank you for your inquiry, email sent. She's a good boat; I'm getting ready to start spring prep. The "deal" on our next boat fell through but we are still looking to move up in size so "Endeavour" is still for sale.

Re: 1971 Allied Luders 33

Update with this year's improvements:

  • Relocated winches to bronze stands closer to the pedestal, easy-peasy single handing
  • Installed brand new Raymarine EVO wheelpilot and SeaTalkNG Network
  • Epoxy glassed, filled, faired, primed and painted all holes in cockpit and old winch island.
  • Just hauled, fresh bottom paint/zincs, hull polished and waxed and splashed in June.
  • Teak cleaned, sanded, two coats of SEMCO
We are finding it difficult to find a true upgrade to this boat for less than three to four times what we are asking - making it increasingly difficult to come to grips with letting it go.

So you are not interested in selling her at this time?

Re: 1971 Allied Luders 33

Thank you for the renewed interest in "Endeavour"

Updates for this year:
1. Replaced steering pedestal under-deck turning sheave base. As many of you know, this item is steel from Edson and has a finite lifetime due to rust. Before installing the replacement base, I painted with two coats of primer and a topcoat of white polyurethane. Also fabricated a new underdeck plywood backing pad coated with epoxy and replaced the steering wire, and repainted the pedestal and installed with silicon bronze bolts.

2. New dodger canvas and sailcover on order to be delivered this spring (navy blue).
3. Rebuilt the 100A alternator.
4. Replaced the exhaust riser (factory Yanmar) and elbow (Yanmar), installed new heat barrier tape and hose.

Due to the continued upgrades and improvements that we have made, and the fact that our target vessels have been disappearing from the market, we are reconsidering selling her.

Re: 1971 Allied Luders 33

James (Badjao):

Thank you for the inquiry - she's a wonderful boat and we have completed the new canvaswork, but she's off the market for the season as I just got back from the yard for a shorthaul.
Last summer saw us to the Vineyard and Nantucket. At anchor outside the Vineyard Haven breakwater for TS Elsa while my wife was crocheting nice and cozy below as it blew 50... Grateful for all that chain.
Happy searching and feel free to contact me if you have any Allied Luders 33 questions, I've put a hand to just about every inch of this boat.

Best,
Charlie

Re: 1971 Allied Luders 33

"Endeavour" is back on the market and seriously for sale. We've finally decided that we do need to go bigger.....hard to let go, but with spending extended periods aboard, taking longer trips and grown kids with their grown friends we need to.

Please review original post for details and upgrades.

$24,000

New Dodger and Sail Cover, navy Sunbrella
New plastic holding tank, new sani hoses this year, too.
New topping lift.
S/T Main halyard winch
Engine hours now 1210; flawless.

New Michigan Wheel propeller is in the box and ready to go. I just winterized the water system and folded and stored the sails.

She is being hauled next weekend; I'll be installing the wheel soon after.
She gets what she needs.

Have a Furuno 1715 radar unit (not installed) that will convey with hassle free sale.
Still could use a good paint job on the decks and cabin top, cosmetics only.
