For Sale: 1966 Salar 40 Motorsailer

1966 Salar 40, designed by Laurent Giles, built in Essex Shipyards, UK. Currently on the hard for the winter in Highlands, NJ 07732. Boat has been put in water every year, stored at my dock while I work on it. I have been working on boat for 10-12 yrs until hurricane Sandy in 2013 forced me to pause while I restored and elevated my house. Now, medical emergencies have forced me to abandon restoration project altogether.
Yanmar 75hp installed in 2010, 18 hrs on it to date

Lewmar bow thruster installed 2016 (greatest thing since sliced bread!)

Currently, mast is off boat, was going to re-do rigging. Rigging looks OK, but everyone recommends re-doing after 15 yrs. Interior of boat is a disaster, it was going to be last thing I got to. Good news, its an "open canvas".

Plan is to launch boat in spring, get boat ready for new buyer to drive boat away from my dock early summer. Boat could be motored 400-500 miles (180 gals fuel).

I have equipment not yet installed on boat that will be sold separate from boat: 12” Chart plotter NIB, AIS, navigation, radar, SSB, compost head, refrigeration, etc. Depending on sale, this equipment could be included
